The Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters, is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of literature in the languages of India. Founded on 12 March 1954, it is supported by, though independent of, the Indian government. Its office is located in Rabindra Bhawan near Mandi House in Delhi.

Kolkata Office: Kolkata Sahitya Akademi Regional Office takes care of the academic programs and works in Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Manipuri and Oriya, English and Tibetan.

Bangalore Office: for Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, a part of publication in English. Located in Central College Campus.

Chennai Office: It works as sub regional office and is for the Tamil language and its programmes.

Mumbai Office: For Gujarati, Konkani, Marathi and Sindhi, a part of publication work in English and Hindi.
